the rambac ti daya festival

poblacion 2 or better known dos, 2,000 population annually celebrates rambac ti daya feast of thanksgiving almighty creator bountiful harvests.. unpredictable weather makes event surprising, may known first month of year heavy rains..

started in 1992 through municipal ordinance, poblacion dos known pioneer barangay come barangay fiesta title-rambac ti daya. festivity culminates on first 2 days of may, preceded inter-zonal basketball tournament runs 2 4 weeks sponsored sangguniang kabataan..

one of highlights of festival community night, in barangay residents, local , foreign visitors gather @ barangay plaza known plaza murit , merry-making through community ktv, beer drinking, exchanging goodies, reuniting old folk, , enjoying , sharing abundant blessings.

the festival ends on second day of may. thanksgiving mass offered in first hour of morning, followed motorists parade downtown. after motorcade, various palarong nayon played children , adult residents alike, big prizes @ stake.

at night, festival ends sagalas/santa cruzan, tribute queen elena on way holy cross. flores de mayo parades young kids dressed in respective personas.

in flores de mayo program, gawad rambac ti daya, outstanding anak ti dos awarded deserving resident made great impact , unsurmounted selfless contributions through civil service, social work, religious, , human rights advocacy, , youth , sports development.

the dumadara festival

an annual fluvial parade festival started davileneos, particularly roman catholic parish of st. francis of asisi. davila coastal barangay of pasuquin, , main harvest dumadara (a fish). associated festival blessed virgin mary, whom month of may dedicated, thanksgiving bountiful fishing. fisherfolks davila made decorate bangkas (boats) fluvial parade. there many activities hold during festival boat race, , eating delectable grilled fish (dumadara)with guests.

holy week celebration

the coastal town of pasuquin celebrates holy week religiosity , solemnity. celebration starts on palm sunday (domingo de ramos) , ends on easter sunday (domingo de pascua). each year, townspeople walks of life come celebrate holy passion , death of our lord.

there total of 3 processions during holy week in st. james greater parish, pasuquin s roman catholic church. holy tuesday procession, better known estacion general , friday (the holy burial) , easter sunday (the encuentro or sabet in ilocano). processional images enthroned in respective carozzas floral arrangements , elaborate lighting fixtures.

during fridays, stabat mater in latin sung long array of cantoras (townspeople) following santo entierro (dead christ). pasuquin remaining town in ilocos practices beautiful tradition/heritage handed forebears. singing of stabat mater in pasuquin has been in existence more century.
