the play entered register of stationers company on 8 october 1600 bookseller thomas fisher, published first quarto edition later year. second quarto printed in 1619 william jaggard, part of so-called false folio. play next appeared in print in first folio of 1623. title page of q1 states play sundry times publickely acted prior 1600. first performance known certainty occurred @ court on 1 january 1605.
