laura finding item puzzle


taking place in 1997, story begins when laura harris contacted los angeles police, receiving disturbing message: father, dr. richter harris, has gone on mass murdering spree , barricaded himself in hospital. laura rushes scene of crime, desperate find explanation well-respected doctor s actions. upon entering hospital, horrified @ murdered bodies lying halls covers eyes. when uncovers them again, finds herself in unknown medieval castle. unwilling give search, laura continues through dark corridors of castle. while attempting find father, experiences series of flashbacks of mother being stabbed death. laura s father (taking form of apparitions) warns leave, saying staying long means being stuck in alternate reality forever. warns become emotionless monster , try kill her. still shaken, laura proceeds find father.


ultimately, laura finds father residing @ peak tower of castle. angrily, father reveals sordid past of family: laura , father part of bloodline of cannibalistic vampires, dating infamous dracula. driven vampiric urges, laura had killed , eaten mother years ago, erased memory father. dr. harris demands laura leave 1 last time, begins transform vampire. if player approaches dr. harris @ point, consume laura s flesh , transform. however, if player shoots dr. harris revolver can found earlier in game, bullet kill him , stop transformation. laura tearfully cradles dying father in arms, confesses allowed transformation occur out of scientific curiosity , stopping him. death, realm created mind fades , replaced normal surroundings of hospital.
