geography

vintar located on plain land surrounded mountains. vintar surrounded , bordered by:



bangui, adams, dumalneg, burgos , pagudpud in north;
laoag city, sarrat, piddig, , carasi in south;
pasuquin , bacarra in west;
calanasan, apayao in east.

the town considered sixth major river system in region. head waters on western cordillera slopes @ kalinga , apayao borders. flows eastward , irrigates of flat lands of ilocos norte before making exit china sea. vintar has largest land area in ilocos norte.


note: town of sigay created in 2008, carving out territory of vintar, amended september 2009 because of poor economy.

vintar divided 2 types of climate:



90% or western part: 2 pronounced seasons, dry december may , wet june november. maximum rain period june september.
10% or eastern part: no pronounced maximum rain period, short dry season lasting 1 3 months.

mount baguinsuso

mount baguinsuso, known mount masadsada (ilocano means passable valley ), active volcano located in barangay 14- ester. mount baguinsuso historical place vintar because town s name came from. mount baguinsuso big landform stretches across barangays of lubnac, parparoroc, bulbulala, , namoroc.
