Relation between angle of attack and lift Angle of attack

a typical lift coefficient curve.

the lift coefficient of fixed-wing aircraft varies angle of attack. increasing angle of attack associated increasing lift coefficient maximum lift coefficient, after lift coefficient decreases.

as angle of attack of fixed-wing aircraft increases, separation of airflow upper surface of wing becomes more pronounced, leading reduction in rate of increase of lift coefficient. figure shows typical curve cambered straight wing. symmetrical wing has 0 lift @ 0 degrees angle of attack. lift curve influenced wing shape, including airfoil section , wing planform. swept wing has lower, flatter curve higher critical angle.
