there single boat ramp. camping not permitted near lake. there picnic areas lakeside while viewing platforms , rainforest walking track through obi obi gorge, located near spillway. fossil fuel motors not allowed on lake. council permit, obtainable on site, required use electric outboard motor use on dinghies, not on canoes.


fishing

lake baroon stocked bass, mary river cod, golden perch , silver perch, while eel-tailed catfish , spangled perch naturally present. council permit required fish in dam.


environmental management

catchment care activities undertaken lake baroon catchment care group (lbccg) community group predominantly funded seqwater ($220,000 pa in 2015). group coordinates protection , remedial works in catchment , addresses ways improve water quality. since inception in 1992, lbccg has developed , monitored on $3.5 million of water quality improvement projects, working local primary producers.
