emanuelson product of ajax s youth system, joining them voorland sc. made debut during 2004–05 season on 10 april 2005 in 4–2 home win on az. of 2005–06 season, became first-choice left , won first career trophies, starting 2005 johan cruyff shield , 2005–06 knvb cup. result, efforts named amsterdam talent of year 2006 . both johan cruyff shield , knvb cup defended in 2006–07 season, former won third consecutive year @ start of 2007–08 season.


in last season @ ajax, emanuelson played left midfielder because of weak defending abilities. flourished in new role on left wing, making runs , assisting flanks while scoring goals himself.


in 2009–10 season, emanuelson won knvb cup third time in career.
