the languages use latin script today use capital letters begin paragraphs , sentences , proper nouns. rules capitalization have changed on time, , different languages have varied in rules capitalization. old english, example, written proper nouns capitalized; whereas modern english of 18th century had nouns capitalized, in same way modern german written today, e.g. alle schwestern der alten stadt hatten die vögel gesehen ( of sisters of old city had seen birds ).
