eremurus lactiflorus (de) 1 of species first described


in 1878, eduard august von regel named , published rosa fedtschenkoana after her son boris took interest in botany. in memoirs of kasan society of naturalists vol.32 , 33, olga , boris described 43 endemic species in buttercup family ranunculaceae found in russian turkestan. in 1901 olga , boris visited pamir ranges together. on return jointly published flora of pamirs in 1901. later in 1913 again published conspectus florae turkestanicae together. olga contributed gardeners chronicle on 10 june 1905, giving short description of eremurus turkestanicus. published several works in trudy imp. s.-peterburgsk. bot. sada (proceedings of petersburg botanical garden); including draba korshinskyi in 1914.


olga described 3 juno irises, iris baldshuanica (in russk. bot. zhurn. 5: 77. 1909,),iris degerensis (now classed synonym of iris narbutii) , iris narynensis (in bulletin of jardin of st peterburg s botanic garden 159 in 1905,).


in 1906, olga fedtschenko became second female corresponding member of russian academy of sciences.


olga named 1 species of plant, fritillaria seravschanica never published (to validate name). later, russian botanist alexei vvedensky, monocot specialist, appears have changed olga’s temporary epithet fritillaria olgae , formally described in son boris fedtschenko s book flora turkmenistan (1932).


she died on april 24, 1921, in petrograd (now called saint petersburg).
