the survey jobs now!, conducted jointly transgender law center , san francisco bay guardian in 2006, provided data on economic reality experienced transgender people , families. team surveyed 194 self-identified transgender people living, working, or looking work in san francisco. survey findings included:



nearly 60% of respondents earned under $15,300 annually
40% did not have bank account
only 25% working full-time
10% homeless

a statewide survey, state of transgender california report, conducted in 2008. findings included respondents more twice live under poverty line general population.
