cameron announced choice chancellor of exchequer, home secretary, foreign secretary , defence secretary on afternoon of 8 may 2015, george osborne, theresa may, philip hammond , michael fallon retaining posts. osborne given honorific title of first secretary of state, had been held william hague in preceding ministry.


cameron s choices other ministers announced through week. eric pickles, communities secretary left cabinet , received knighthood, being replaced greg clark. michael gove moved position of justice secretary, replacing chris grayling, became new leader of house of commons.


several vacant cabinet posts held liberal democrats subsequently filled conservative ministers – positions of business secretary, energy secretary, scottish secretary , chief secretary treasury given sajid javid, amber rudd, david mundell , greg hands respectively, john whittingdale replacing javid culture secretary.


mark harper replaced gove chief whip, whilst matthew hancock became new minister cabinet office, being replaced anna soubry minister of state small business, industry , enterprise. priti patel became new minister of state employment , robert halfon became minister without portfolio.
