verity records: 2003–2006

after four-year hiatus, in 2003 winans release bringing featured shake loose , written , produced son, mario. leaving nothing chance, dipped deep own pockets create marketing strategy gospel labels never spend on project. spent on $200,000 creating 5 music videos, hiring independent radio teams, promotional marketing teams , creating 50 city-promotional concert tour launch cd.


the strategy paid off album debuted @ #1 on billboard gospel music charts. spent 9 weeks @ #1 , full year in top 10. album garnered 8 stellar award nominations, winning 5, , grammy nomination.


woman woman: songs of life, released on august 8, 2006.

how got on (destiny joy records) name of winans self-produced cd released on august 25, 2009. eleven-song project blend of traditional , urban contemporary songs. first radio single, “how got over” winans’ personal testimony. taking line old hymn classic favorite, winans creates brand new song celebrates victories, faith , trust in god. opens upbeat, old school church flavor , breaks down contemporary vamp before slams closing nephew, tim bowman, jr. lays down jazzy scats. song s music video shot in basement of winans home. album gained winans grammy nomination best traditional gospel album.
