classes
with 420 students in grades pk-12, class sizes @ wardlaw small, example, upon graduation, class of 2006 had 25 students , class of 2010 graduated 4 more. despite having few students, students still offered opportunity take more rarefied classes despite small enrollment; example, ap physics c: electricity , magnetism has 2 students enrolled of spring 2010.
school day
wardlaw-hartridge s normal school year 165 days (a bit shorter public , parochial schools). lower, middle, , upper schools require students present attendance @ 8:00 am. lower school students dismissed between 2:45 , 3:45 in middle school, students not participating in sports dismissed @ 3:15 pm; participating in sports dismissed @ 4:30 pm. academic day in upper school ends @ 3:16 pm, , athletics run 3:30-6:00 pm.
in 2010-11 school year w-h started on 7-day rotating schedule within upper school. previous year on 6-day rotating schedule while 2 years before on fixed weekly schedule. in 2015-2016, schedule changed rotating weeks , b weeks.
getting school
wardlaw-hartridge day school no on-campus housing boarding students. students commute daily on new jersey; students have lived far lumberton township, new jersey (about 50 miles away) while attending. students licenses may register upper school office drive school , park in designated parking spots, however, seniors allowed leave campus during school hours.
homerooms
lower schoolers spend of time in teacher s classroom. lower school students attend classes called specials, lunch, , gym outside teacher s classroom. each year, student moves new homeroom teacher, , teachers typically teach 1 grade level many years.
middle schoolers move class class, meet daily in homerooms, advisor s classroom. these advisors designated @ beginning of sixth grade , students keep same advisor through middle school career.
upper schoolers congregate each morning before class in school s all-purpose (ap) room morning meeting, , seated advisor. middle school, upper school students appointed advisor advises through entire upper school education. upper school students technically have homeroom, homeroom of designated advisor, students typically spend less 1 hour week in homeroom. each team of advisors overseen class dean, accompanies class freshmen year graduation.
dress code
students @ wardlaw-hartridge required abide developmentally approved dress code. prek , k students may wear casual clothing, lower school, middle school, , upper school each have uniforms.

both middle school , upper school have student councils function consult student groups and/or outside agencies on matters of fundraising within respective divisions.
under supervision of middle school head, middle school student council (consisting of executive council , advisory representatives), organizes dances , social activities middle school.
upper school judiciary board
the judiciary board body made of elected student chair, 1 elected student each class of upper school,and 4 faculty members. students commit major disciplinary infractions may referred judiciary board upper school administration. after hearing, judiciary board has closed hearing, , makes recommendation disciplinary action upper school head. student commits major disciplinary infraction entitled judiciary board hearing.
upper school clubs
there many student-run upper-school clubs. clubs academically, athletically, or artistically based. examples include science , math society, model united nations, beacon newspaper, table tennis club, visions literary magazine, tempora et mores yearbook, w-h choral society, , whtv.
