arena națională, new stadium inaugurated on 6 september 2011, hosted 2012 europa league final , has 55,600-seat capacity, making 1 of largest stadiums in southeastern europe.


sport clubs have formed ice hockey, rugby union, basketball, handball, water polo, , volleyball. majority of romanian track , field athletes , gymnasts affiliated clubs in bucharest. athletics , many gymnastics national championships held in bucharest @ polyvalent hall, used other indoor sports such volleyball , handball.


the largest indoor arena in bucharest romexpo dome seating capacity of 10,000. used tennis, boxing, , kickboxing.


starting in 2007, bucharest has hosted annual races along temporary urban track surrounding palace of parliament, called bucharest ring. competition called bucharest city challenge, , has hosted fia gt, fia gt3, british f3, , logan cup races in 2007 , 2008. 2009 , 2010 edition have not been held in bucharest due lawsuit. bucharest gp, owned controversial businessman nicolae Șerbu, won lawsuit initiated , host city races around parliament starting 2011 auto gp.


every year, bucharest hosts brd năstase Țiriac trophy international tennis tournament, included in atp tour. outdoor tournament hosted tennis complex bnr arenas. ice hockey games held @ mihai flamaropol arena, holds 8,000 spectators. rugby games held in different locations, modern stadium arcul de triumf stadium, home romanian national rugby team.
