the irish people (30 september 1905 – 27 march 1909) re-published in cork after o brien s return public life in 1904, editor john herlihy. paper aimed @ furthering o brien s concept of national conciliation , promoting full scale implementation of land act, encouraging tenant land purchase , extolling benefits. through alliance land , labour association had become munster base o brien s renewed political activities. irish people, o brien s prime political media, propagated 1906 cottage building programmes won under 1906 labourer (ireland) act. editorials, penned d. d. sheehan mp, condemned in regular rhetorical exchanges irish party s freeman s journal, party s relentless campaign against land purchase.
