a more contemporary box design introduced in january 1981, colour scheme changed black/yellow/red. larger box altogether , allowed model positioned @ angle if on display, , produced after cheaper back-to-basics plain box design featuring cardboard box photograph of model rejected company. cost-cutting measure outer box no longer identified model, model number , description printed on yellow inner plinth. therefore, few standardised box sizes produced instead of different box each article. 1983 saw final version of box, more solid window area smaller @ rear. box design used new corgi company in 1984. mentioned elsewhere in article, film , tv related models , gift sets featured more elaborate designs , unique artwork distinguish packaging.
