professional career

signed lg twins, park made kbo league debut on april 2, 2002. in 2002 kbo season, batted .288 highest batting average among rookie players.


in 2004, had .300-plus batting average first time (.300), amassing 16 home runs , 58 rbis.


park known base-stealing cleanup hitter. while batting 4th in order of team since rookie season, stole 40-plus bases in 2 seasons (2003 , 2005), , won stolen base title career-high 43 in 2005.


in 2006, park called south korea national baseball team inaugural world baseball classic. appeared in 4 games pinch hitter, going 1-for-4 1 rbi. in team korea s second game of round 1 against china, park hit rbi triple drive in lee bum-ho pinch hitter in bottom of seventh.


in 2008, park fell horrendous slump. batted career-low .257 career-low 2 home runs, missing 30 games due injuries.


in 2009, park had best career in batting average. won kbo batting title career-high .372 average , hit 18 home run. on december 11, 2009, won golden glove award in outfielder nomination.


in 2012, park got golden glove award.


from 2013 , until 2017, , despite playing in mid late thirties, park batted on .320 , reached @ least 150 hits in each season, , regarded 1 of best contact hitters in kbo. 2225 career hits @ end of 2017, , no immediate plans retirement, park expected overtake yang joon-hyuk all-time career hit leader in kbo. so, need best yang s mark of 2318 total hits.
