2013 prague-born vakoč s first year professional, riding etixx–ihned, development team of omega pharma–quick-step. in june, won okolo slovenska stage race @ age of 20. young cyclist s success continued when won overall in vuelta la comunidad de madrid sub-23, under 23 version of vuelta la comunidad de madrid. in august vakoc won 1.2 event grand prix královéhradeckého kraje, 5 seconds ahead of josef hosek.


2014

after vakoč s success in 2013, granted contract omega pharma–quick-step. finished 10th overall , won stage of tour de pologne, uci world tour event. placed second in both nation s road race , time trial championship.


2015

in 2015, vakoc won national road race championships 11 seconds ahead of leopold könig. in may, rode in first grand tour, giro d italia. vakoč finished race in 116th place overall. young cyclist earned yet victory when won czech cycling tour, 1 of nation s biggest cycling races. won stage of tour of britain. competed nation @ european games, earning bronze medal in road race.


2016

vakoč celebrated success in 1 day races during fourth professional season, winning 3 major races; won classic sud-ardèche , la drôme classic on successive days in february. in april, booked biggest victory yet @ brabantse pijl, 1.hc race in belgium. named in start list 2016 tour de france.
