more recent sculptural portraits include henry alfred pegram s statue of sir thomas contemplating urn in norwich. statue occupies central position in haymarket beside st. peter mancroft, not far site of house. erected in 1905 , moved original position in 1973.


in 1931 english painter paul nash invited illustrate book of own choice, nash choose sir thomas browne s urn burial , garden of cyrus, providing publisher set of 32 illustrations accompany browne s discourses. edition published in 1932. pencil drawing nash called urne buriall: teeth, bones , hair held birmingham museums trust.
