since opening show, starring frank sinatra on january 30, 1990, times union center has become popular concert venue, due proximity larger cities new york city, boston, , montreal, concert tickets tend sell out faster.


the open parking lots near arena provide excellent tailgating area fans before show.


in 1990, grateful dead recorded 1996 release, dozin @ knick, @ arena.


dave matthews band has played @ arena 4 times, in 2010.


whitesnake played @ arena during slip of tongue world tour in 1990. concert took place february 15, , there lot of empty seats due blizzard keeping many fans getting arena.


metallica played @ arena on november 12, 2009 during world magnetic tour.
