they represent past events tribute beliefs, desires , reflections of people, dances update story of place , inhabitants. in andean world dances preserved centuries old. cabana pays tribute patron santiago apostle colorful dances, among them are: mojiganga, blanquillos , kiyayas; each of them varied components between choreography, costumes, songs, music , interpretation.


the mojiganga

castilian word means jocoso - funny, stamp introduced spaniards, represent social situation of people, shows characters various social strata. mojiganga can seen in 2 moments in patronal festivities, takes place every year in july, (1) in mornings run on main streets of city inviting general public paseo de res (la vaca) delivered in afternoon 1 of devotees (stewards) of party , (2) in afternoon when delivering paseo de res (la vaca) , dance beat of cash or roncador.

the shepperds wear elegant dress, suitable party. lady wears embroidered skirt, blouse, ojotas , straw hat, , pastor s cloths dress trousers, shirt, wool poncho, pannier, straw hat , carries whip in hand.


the vilches wears dress embroidered fine gold or silver thread, crown of feathers colored mirrors and, in enjalma carries reminder painted or corduroy cloth embroidered threads of gold leaf , presents varied reasons, brings in neck moñera (decorative ribbon) around waist , painted or embroidered pechera subsequently placed res (la vaca).


all of them wear special masks.


the blanquillos

groups of warriors born in reaction against spanish domination, huanca , shacshas. blanquillo, toured many parts of culture conchucos, spaniards in place killing them.
