the isle connected föhr , mainland harbour of dagebüll on 1 hand , halligen , mainland terminal of schlüttsiel on other hand 2 ferry routes. during summer season, fast passenger boat offers services between ports of hörnum on sylt, halligen hooge , langeneß , harbour of strucklahnungshörn on nordstrand. amrum s terminal located @ wittdün, ferries operated wyker dampfschiffs-reederei gmbh (w.d.r.). tourists reach amrum via dagebüll. there, ferry need 90 minutes reach island on straight route, more common routes stop @ wyk auf föhr need 120 minutes of time.


on island, bicycle main means of transport next cars; compared other areas of germany, amrum provides excellent network of bicycle routes. numerous rental services may provide tourists bicycles. bus service connects norddorf, nebel , wittdün on hourly schedule (every 30 minutes during summer season). ferries, bus service operated w.d.r.. less common form of transport mudflat hiking between amrum , föhr.
