pub rock short-lived trend left lasting influence on british music scene, in punk rock. back-to-basics movement reacted against glittery glam rock of david bowie , gary glitter, , peaked in mid-1970s. pub rock developed in large north london pubs. , said have begun in may 1971 eggs on easy, american band, playing in tally ho! in kentish town. group of musicians had been playing in blues , r&b bands during 1960s , 70s formed influential bands brinsley schwarz, ducks deluxe , bees make honey. brinsley schwarz influential group, achieving mainstream success both in uk , in states. second wave of pub rock included kilburn , high roads, ace , chilli willi , red hot peppers; these followed third , final wave of pub rock, including dr. feelgood, eddie , hot rods, winkies , sniff n tears. several pub rock musicians joined new wave acts such graham parker s backing band, rumour, elvis costello & attractions , clash.
