former c.e. king junior-senior high school, c.e. king middle school


in 1954, houston real estate investor cortes ewing king donated 54 acre tract sheldon independent school district. district used donated land construct junior-senior high school , named after him. c.e. king junior-senior high school located on western half of donated land c.e. king middle school stands.


the school partially destroyed fire in 1955, , in same year, c.e. king junior-senior high school had first graduating class of 11 students. in 1965, junior-senior high school renamed c.e. king junior high school , current c.e. king high school building opened on land adjacent it.


in 1972, former parkway elementary opened next high school on 10 acres donated district parkway subdivision. campus later closed , annexed part of high school.


a building addition c.e. king high school completed in 1970. auditorium added in 1973. classroom additions made main building , annex in 1978. gym, field house, , wellness center added in late 1980s 1990s. administrative addition completed in 1999. two-story building near tennis courts completed in 2002. in 2003 plaza , new cafeteria opened. slight addition cafeteria made in 2008. stadium refurbished in 2009.
