on 7 october 1991, kzfm branding replaced new name of gold 104 revamped playlist predominantly of hit songs 1960s , 1970s, under banner time oldies . after change in ownership australian radio network, gold became stable enough re-build market position, , return of heritage style on-air presentation of station.

the original gold 104 lineup was:

12:00 pm – 4:00 pm – craig huggins
4:00 pm – 8:00 pm – bruce neels

in december 2011, peter grubby stubbs , diane dee dee dunleavy axed station after hosting grubby , dee dee breakfast on 12 years. in 2012, brigitte duclos , anthony lehmo lehmann departed mix mornings on sister station mix 101.1 join gold 104.3 on breakfast. brigitte duclos announced departing station in november 2015, , replaced jo stanley in 2016.

gold 104.3 , sister station kiis 101.1 broadcast shared facilities, in pelaco building in melbourne suburb of richmond. station predominantly focuses on smooth variety of songs 1980s, while featuring selection of songs 1960s, 1970s 1990s , 2000s.
