between june 30 , july 1, outer bands of arthur produced light rain on northwestern bahamas, 1.26 in (32 mm) measured in freeport. winds @ settlement point on grand bahama peaked @ 47 mph (76 km/h) gusts 61 mph (98 km/h).


although arthur remained offshore, large scale northerly flow west side of cyclone sparked scattered severe thunderstorms across florida several days. effects these storms minor damage amounting $23,000. on july 3 however, 1 storm produced straight-line winds estimated @ 70–80 mph (110–130 km/h) , caused 2 barns collapse near elkton. additionally, rip currents affected atlantic coastal areas of state. in daytona beach, dozen swimmers had rescued lifeguards due strong currents generated arthur. similar effects felt in coastal georgia scattered thunderstorms causing minor damage. farther north in south carolina, arthur produced wind gusts 42 mph (68 km/h) along coastal areas, resulting in scattered power outages. heavy rains fell in , around myrtle beach, peak of 8.73 in (222 mm) measured outside city; highest total observed in relation storm throughout country.
