biography
beginnings

origin grew out of series of jam sessions in 1997 involving guitarist/vocalists paul ryan , jeremy turner. band took shape on period of half year. bassist clint appelhanz , vocalist mark manning joined in october 1997, , drummer george fluke joined in january 1998. band members decided tour under name origin.

on may 23, 1998, band opened suffocation. summer, origin recorded four-song, self-financed , self-distributed demo, coming existence. in october, band secured opening slot on death across america tour, featured nile, cryptopsy, oppressor , gorguts.

in february 1999, george fluke replaced john longstreth , doug williams replaced clint appelhanz. new lineup, origin secured show napalm death on april 14. various other regional shows followed, including spot @ november dismember metalfest in texas. on december 16, origin signed relapse records.

on july 11, 2000, origin released first studio album, origin. origin played march metal meltdown in new jersey , invited take part in contaminated 2000. shared stage exhumed , cephalic carnage, , participated in november december in california. origin joined forces poland’s vader, along label mates cephalic carnage , dying fetus, high-profile death across america 2000 tour. after, origin embarked on yet tour, time alongside candiria, cryptopsy , poison well. made milwaukee metalfest appearance in 2001, , participated in summer slaughter year (the 1st version of summer slaughter tour under different booking agency digger). origin secured headline tour before beginning work on album. result, informis infinitas inhumanitas, introduced 2 new members, james lee on vocals , mike flores on bass guitar.

informis infinitas inhumanitas

produced band colin e. davis co-producing @ studio 1 in racine, wisconsin. following release of informis infinitas inhumanitas, origin hit road part of summer metal tour nile, arch enemy , hate eternal. following tour, jeremy turner resigned band , clint appelhanz (this time playing guitar instead of bass guitar) returned. origin toured immolation, vader, , berzerker, followed tour remains, scar culture , crematorium. unforeseen problems arose, , origin had cancel tour nuclear assault in january 2003. shortly thereafter john longstreth resigned band; james king chosen fill spot.

the band played first show new line-up in september 2003 in topeka, kansas. @ concert, shot music video song portal, informis infinitas inhumanitas. band landed headlining west coast tour in january 2004 uphill battle. in summer, origin toured midwest, playing milwaukee metalfest 2004 , texas death , grindfest label mates soilent green , kill client.

echoes of decimation

on march 15, 2005, origin released echoes of decimation, third studio album. fan reaction mixed. review of echoes in student newspaper of metropolitan community college-longview in kansas city called monotonous, yet nonetheless impressive due band members instrumental prowess.

numerous united states tours followed, including headlining performances @ new england metal , hardcore festival , ohio deathfest. band joined forces malevolent creation , animosity summer north american tour sold out @ many venues. tour origin 52 days long, , 3 shows had cancelled.

in 2006, james king , clint appelhanz left origin, , had joined death metal/grindcore group unmerciful, along jeremy turner , tony reust. in april, john longstreth returned origin, , in may, band played first european show. embarked on summer headlining tour across north america, paul ryan performing guitar parts.

antithesis

in february , march 2007, origin played in europe label mates misery index , necrophagist, newly signed fellow topeka locals diskreet. after end of tour, jeremy turner rejoined origin , band began work on next album. finished recording in february 2008, , resulting album, antithesis, released april 1, 2008, , peaked @ no. 21 on billboard top heatseekers chart. band released music video antithesis song finite on may 23, 2008. video began shown on television next day, premiering on mtv2 s headbanger s ball.

entity

the band went record fifth album, entity, trio of paul ryan, mike flores, , john longstreth. vocals done ryan , flores vocalist james lee ejected band in late 2010. lee later went on join minnesota based death metal band face of oblivion. in 2010, band signed german-based nuclear blast records , recorded debut label in november. after releasing entity, origin recruited jason keyser of skinless vocal duties. band embarked on tour hate eternal, vital remains , abysmal dawn in north america. after, origin left tour europe psycroptic , leng tch e. band scheduled headline american occupation domination tour along cattle decapitation, decrepit birth, aborted, rings of saturn , battlecross.
