emanuelson product of ajax s youth system, joining them voorland sc. made debut during 2004–05 season on 10 april 2005 in 4–2 home win on az. of 2005–06 season, became first-choice left , won first career trophies, starting 2005 johan cruyff shield , 2005–06 knvb cup. result, efforts named amsterdam talent of year 2006 . both johan cruyff shield , knvb cup defended in 2006–07 season, former won third consecutive year @ start of 2007–08 season.


in last season @ ajax, emanuelson played left midfielder because of weak defending abilities. flourished in new role on left wing, making runs , assisting flanks while scoring goals himself.


in 2009–10 season, emanuelson won knvb cup third time in career.


milan

on 23 january 2011, italian serie club milan announced signing of emanuelson on three-and-a-half-year contract transfer fee of around €1.7 million. after 2010–11 season, fee increased €750,000, making total fee of around €2.5 million.


emanuelson made debut club on 26 january 2011 in coppa italia match against sampdoria, providing assist alexandre pato. milan won match 2–1. played first game in serie after entering substitute against catania. emanuelson scored first goal milan in coppa italia match against palermo, equalizer in 2–2 draw. helped milan win first scudetto in 7 years @ end of season, acting substitute. won 2011 supercoppa italiana.


emanuelson scored first serie goal milan in away match against cesena on 19 february 2012. scored second serie goal milan in away game against parma on 17 march 2012.


fulham (loan)

emanuelson signed english premier league side fulham on loan until end of 2012–13 season on 31 january 2013. made fulham debut on 2 february against manchester united @ craven cottage, coming on giorgos karagounis. scored first goal fulham in 3–0 win on swansea city on final day of season.


roma

on 11 july 2014, emanuelson signed one-year deal roma option club extend contract 2 seasons.


verona

on 3 january 2016, emanuelson joined hellas verona on free transfer.


sheffield wednesday

after being released verona in summer 2016, emanuelson joined english championship side sheffield wednesday on 6 september on free transfer.


fc utrecht

emanuelson returned holland in summer 2017, after signing one-year contract fc utrecht.
